Sprinkler/Garden hose timer not watering

I recently purchased the smart sprinkler timer due to a leak in my in-lawn irrigation lines in order to automatically water my lawn in the wee hours of the morning when it’s not too hot here in north central California. However, I do not think the timer is actually triggering a daily watering at the set time. I have the timer set for 0430am daily for 45 minutes unless it rains. See pictures below for reference. Do I have a setting incorrect, is my unit broken, or is there another potential issue that is not allowing the sprinkler to water?

Hello,

Thank you for posting the information and providing photos.

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Please replace the batteries with brand-new alkaline ones; low battery power can prevent the valve from opening or closing.
  2. Check if the inlet and outlet have been installed in reverse, which could cause valve malfunction.
  3. Please install a filter screen at the water inlet and clean it regularly to prevent debris from entering the pipeline and interfering with valve operation.
  4. Keep the faucet open, increase the water pressure, and manually toggle the valve open and closed repeatedly; this helps clear out any debris stuck inside the valve.
  5. Adjust the water supply pressure; the product’s operating pressure range is 0.05–0.8 MPa (7.25–116 PSI).
  6. Due to prolonged storage or shipping, water inside the valve may have evaporated, causing the silicone diaphragm to stick. We recommend increasing the water pressure and repeatedly toggling the valve to see if the pressure can force it open.
  7. Please verify the device’s orientation; the irrigation timer should be installed vertically. We do not recommend using it at an angle, or placing it horizontally or upside down.
7.1) Improper orientation can lead to uneven wear on the internal sealing ring over time, causing malfunctions such as failure to open/close or water leakage.
7.2) In a horizontal position, limescale and sediment are more likely to accumulate inside the valve body, worsening blockages and preventing proper operation or water flow.
You can create a watering schedule set to start 3 minutes from the current time and run for 2–3 minutes. Then, observe whether the timer actually opens the valve and allows water to flow.

If the test schedule runs correctly, your timer is functioning properly, and the issue likely lies with a previously saved schedule setting. We recommend restarting the device and setting up the schedule again.

If it still does not work, please email service@rainpointonline.com with your order details (order number, purchase date, and seller name) and a short video showing the timer’s display status and the testing process. Our support team will provide further assistance.
