I bought “RAINPOINT WiFi Sprinkler Timer 4 Zone, Outdoor Smart Water Timer for Garden Hose with Brass Inlet & Outlet”.
And I had problems accessing the Gateway- it is located far away in a country house and is often offline.
Can Gateway work in a local network? My router has a static Ip and I can see the ip Gateway
Then I would be able to issue commands to the Gateway ip address via the command line.
Thanks!
Nikita

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

To better assist you, please provide the following information:
Gateway model number
Timer model number

If you are using the HWG023 gateway, the device requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection to function properly. It does not support direct LAN control or command transmission via IP address; the gateway must remain online via Wi-Fi to receive commands from the app.

If your gateway frequently disconnects, please check the following:

1. Adjust the placement of the gateway relative to the router to improve the Wi-Fi signal. Avoid placing the gateway behind multiple walls or thick glass, and ensure there is no interference from motors or other electrical appliances.
2. Reset the network or power supply; the connection should automatically restore after a short wait.
3. Check if the power supply (voltage) is stable. For plug-in gateways, try a different wall outlet; for USB gateways, try replacing the power adapter or USB cable.
4. Router settings: Features such as internet time limits, website access restrictions, or parental controls—as well as incorrect IP/MAC binding configurations—can prevent the device from accessing the internet. Please access the router’s management interface to check and adjust these settings.
5. Excessive number of connected clients: Too many devices connected to the router’s Wi-Fi simultaneously can lead to slow speeds or a loss of internet access. Try reducing the number of connected devices or switching to a router capable of handling more connections.
6. Check for the latest firmware version. In the app, go to: Home Screen \> Tap Device Icon \> Tap the button in the top-right corner \> Check for Updates.

Best regards,
