I recently purchased a **RainPoint 3-Zone WiFi Water Timer (HTV345 FRF)**.

The installation went smoothly, and I was able to successfully schedule watering for three separate zones. The system worked correctly the first time, and the device is properly paired with the hub.

However, the next day, the **four brand-new batteries** I had installed were already completely drained. I replaced them with another set of four new batteries, and once again they were fully discharged within 24 hours.

I believe the product may be defective.

any help?

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your post!

I’m sorry to hear that your new HTV345FRF timer drained its battery in just 24 hours. This is definitely not normal.

Please check the following:

1. Check the battery compartment for battery leakage or rust on the battery contacts.

2. Check if the device has been submerged in water.

3. Please use brand new alkaline batteries; avoid mixing old and new batteries.

4. Please confirm the timer irrigation mode. Is it using a cycle soaking or interval irrigation mode? Frequent valve opening and closing increases power consumption and accelerates battery drain.

5. Please check if smart scenes are set, such as frequent watering in low humidity or other scenarios that cause abnormal timer power consumption.

6. Try removing the device from the app and re-pairing it. High communication network power consumption may be causing abnormal timer power consumption.

7. Check if the timer is too far from the gateway, if there are walls/thick glass, or other signal interference causing poor signal and increased communication power consumption.

If the battery still drains quickly, please provide the following information to [support@rainpointonline.com](mailto:support@rainpointonline.com):

Screenshot of your Amazon order details (order number, purchase date, seller name).

Replace with a brand new set of alkaline batteries and observe the usage process.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
RainPoint Customer Support
